A Quick MagicJack Plus Release Update

The new device was slated to be released for sale during the 1st quarter of 2011 but for this go around the company is doing it right and putting their new product through a lengthy testing phase before its release. At this time only 200 magicJack Plus units have been sold and they are using feedback from users to work out any kinks and get the final design ready for release.

Recently VocalTec gave guidance that this testing phase is expected to be completed in early July 2011 with release of the product thereafter. The release date is set to be determined very soon, with exacts not yet known. However don’t hold your breath on this one. We have been told many times about releases from VocalTec only to be disappointed with delays. VocalTec also said that it hopes to release the magicJack App at the same time, this app is expected to work with iDevices initially including the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch with eventual release for all Android devices, Blackberry Phones, and Windows devices. We also just learned that you will indeed have the option to transfer your existing number. We highly doubt the app will come out at the same time as the MJ plus. magicJack often over  promises significantly on release dates and rarely delivers on time.

The last time we posted about the magic Jack Plus we didn’t have any information on what the device would look like or its size. However with the testing phase in order pictures and videos of the new device have begun to surface and we’ve got a sneak peak for you right here!! It looks to be almost the same as the original device but it is slightly more square shaped, comes with an Ethernet port, and has the word “plus” added to the image we have seen for years on the original device.

If you have been anticipating it’s release for awhile then it’s time to get excited because it is almost here. Let’s just hope they don’t disappoint with another delay.

I was alerted that magic jack plus needed to be upgraded by fixit, that was a mistake, the upgrade wiped everything out of my magic jack & let me know that my unit could not be upgraded. One good thing is it does work in the wall plugin, the only thing I don't have is my contact list which contained around 100 names & phone numbers. I do have them in my little black book. I wish there is some way I can retrieve my contact list. If you know of a way, please let me know.
